Here's how to dye suede products.
You will need: –
- Suede & Nubuck Cleaner
- Suede brush, or Scotchbrite scouring pad
- Leather Dye Furniture Clinic Repair Paint
- Suede & Nubuck Protector
- Sponge
Step 1 – Cleaning and Preparation: – Use a Scotchbrite scouring pad or suede brush to thoroughly scrub the entire suede surface. Then clean thoroughly with Suede & Nubuck Cleaner. – Brush again gently with a suede brush or Scotchbrite scouring pad to raise the suede nap. Wipe with a cloth to ensure no dust residue remains.
Step 2 – Dyeing: – Dilute the leather dye with water. Dilute 1 part dye with 1.5 parts water (e.g., 50 ml dye with 75 ml water). Mix thoroughly. – Take a small amount of dye on a sponge and rub it into the leather with circular motions, ensuring all suede fibers are covered. Let dry. – Use a suede brush, or Scotchbrite scouring pad, to brush up the suede fibers again. If needed, apply another layer of dye in the same way as above. Let dry. – When dyeing, the suede fibers may become flattened by the dye. It is therefore important to brush up the fibers again with a suede brush or Scotchbrite scouring pad when you are completely finished with the dyeing – Afterward, spray with suede protector for increased protection and durability.
